How does martial arts tie into my personal and professional life?
Intense exercise of any form leads to the release of endorphins which heightens your mood and energy. However, martial arts takes this to a whole new level! Through positions and practices that force you to focus and shift your energy, expect to leave sessions feeling great! With a clear mind you can tackle any professional challenge or appreciate the things that really matter in life.
I don’t consider myself athletic or physically fit. Is martial arts for me?
Yes! We structure sessions to benefit all students regardless of size, stature, age, strength, or ability. In fact, by using an opponent’s energy against them, a person on the smaller size can finally feel certain in their ability to protect themselves.
Self defense is a priority for me and I’d like to be able to defend myself in any situation. Is this the right program for this?
100%. After just a few sessions, you’ll possess a set of easy to use redirection tools that can fend off an attacker. Feel confident that this is a comprehensive self defense solution.
I’ve never tried Kickboxing before. Do I need experience?
We realize that many of our students have never even seen kickboxing or self defense in action let alone have previous experience. Whether you’re trying Martial Arts out for the first time or you’re a seasoned pro, we’ll make sure that you get the most out of classes and improve at a pace you feel comfortable with.
What should I wear and what equipment do I need?
Feel free to wear anything comfortable and dress as if you were going to gym.
There is a cost for sparring equipment, please call or e-mail us for pricing.
Will this help me lose weight?
Statistics show kickboxing helps burn an average of 820 calories per hour! With a perfect mix of cardio, conditioning, and endurance; an intense workout is essentially guaranteed. Stay consistent with sessions and results will follow!
Do I need to be athletic to enjoy Kickboxing?
Classes are filled with people ranging in age, experience level, ability, and physical framework. We encourage all students to exercise at their own pace and participate in ways they feel comfortable with.
With the right mindset and never give up attitude, you’ll reach new heights in no time!
Is Martial Arts Dangerous?
Although any sport or activity has some risk involved, our team of certified instructors follow safety protocols to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our students. In fact, unlike sports which has one adult supervising an entire team, we have multiple instructors monitoring a room at all times making sure everything runs smoothly. We understand that each student has their own unique limits and we encourage rest and feedback during exercise.
Is Martial Arts Violent?
Martial Arts is often depicted as a violent activity but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The mindset behind martial arts involves harmony, peace, tranquility, and connection to the body. The majority of training circles around movement and energy. We teach kids how to talk through conflicts and seek the guidance of an adult with the authority to help. However, if an unavoidable violent situation arises in your child’s life, they now have the tools to fend off the attack and safely escape the situation.
What if my child doesn’t like it?
With any new activity, it’s common to face some resistance in the beginning. We make great efforts to keep classes fun and lighthearted but at the end of the day it’s also an educational experience. We encourage parents to give us a few sessions to get through to new students.
Do you offer any Personal Training or Fitness at your Studio?
We focus on Martial Arts and Kickboxing. You may book private classes as well, please call or e-mail us for pricing
What if I’m not very flexible?
Everyone is different. We teach a wide range of techniques for all ages and abilities, so you can use the ones you like to develop your own unique style.
How long does it take to get a black belt?
Each individual will progress at their own rate. While achieving new rank is an exciting part of martial arts training, we are not a “black belt factory” and do not promote for the sake of promoting. It depends largely on how many classes you attend, how much you practice, etc. Rarely does anyone achieve a Black Belt in less than three years.
